John just thinking is a reservoir of my thoughts and conclusions on a variety of topics, mostly of ethical, philosophical, political, or social importance. Essays (“posts” in blog language) will be of differing subjects, lengths, and frequency. My intention is neither to be antagonistic nor iconoclastic, but simply to follow wherever careful thought has led me. I claim no certitude, just a commitment to integrity and candor.
Posts are created at a varied rate, so if you tend toward happenstance visits, maybe there’ll be a new post, maybe not. But if you’d like to avoid having to remember, click on “follow” and sign up. (A follow symbol will be found in the bottom right of most pages.) Followers are notified by email of new postings. You can then read new posts right in that email, but if like me your pleasure is greater when reading in better typeface, click on the link provided to be brought directly to the newest post on this site (with access to all the rest). Not only is the print better, you’ll also have access to photographs or graphs if any are included, and a method to add comments of criticism or agreement–preferably brief! Since the first post in April 2013, the blog has grown to beyond 235 posts as of July 2020. Due to that growth, as of April 2017, all posts were categorized by topic, made available on the right side of each page along with a similar categorization by month of publication.
